Vice principals in Unit 6 voted to approve the Converting VPs to 12-Month Employees Memorandum of Agreement. Ratification voting started on Tuesday, September 12 and ended today, September 15.

Percentage: 81.47% accept
A tentative agreement has been reached for vice principals as a result of HGEA’s demands for parity for your pay and the DOE recognizing the need to convert vice principals to 12-month employees to oversee the operations on school campuses year-round in line with the Reinventing Education Act of 2004.

In its special meeting held yesterday, the Board of Education met in executive session to receive a briefing from the DOE on the tentative agreement for vice principals. The BOE then took action to appoint and authorize Board Member Kaimana Barcarse to represent the BOE in negotiation matters pertaining to the HGEA Bargaining Unit 6.

Voting Procedure
An electronic ratification ballot will be sent to your personal email address on Tuesday, Sept. 12 from “HGEA Ballot” with the subject, “BALLOT: HGEA 12-Month VP MOA Ratification.”
Voting will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15.

- Go to https://www.hgea.org/requestballot for instructions on how to request a ballot. Requests for ballots must be received by 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 (no later than four hours before the close of electronic voting).
